Free version is not available anymore and mOcean now comes in shareware version only. This means that you would need to purchase the activation code in order for mOcean to work properly. The activation code is available for $19.99.

Free version has been disabled because SOMA launcher (ads generator) required maintenance that was not correspondent with the number of ads generated.

We might consider going back to ad-supported version, but this option does not depend on us only, but also on the ads providers.

There are several ways to achieve this:

1) Use mOceanSync to transfer songs from your iTunes Library To sync your music with iTunes, simply start mOceanSync desktop application, select iTunes play lists, connect your device with your desktop and select 'Synchronize with iTunes' option from mOcean

2) Use 'Connect as USB Drive' option to transfer songs from your Windows Media Player Library To sync your music files with Windows Media Player, just start Media Player, connect your device with the desktop and select 'Connect as USB Drive' option from mOcean

3) Copy songs directly to your SD/MMC card either with a card reader, or through the built-in card-mounting tool You can connect Palm device with your desktop and press 'Connect as USB Drive' without starting any additional application on the desktop; mOcean will behave like an SD card reader

4) Download songs shared over a wireless network to your device

5) Send them over a Bluetooth or Infrared (IR) connection

Yes, mOcean detects headset availability and, optionally, it can pause the song playback if headphones are disconnected.

You will not be able to do so, as SD or MMC card is required as storage for songs because PalmOS does not support storing this file type in internal memory.

When you install complete mOcean v3 (device and desktop) please follow this iTunes mOcean synchronization process procedure:

During the sync process mOceanSync MUST be running on your PC.

You can find your iTunes playlist in Music>Playlists.

Additionally, if you uncheck iTunes playlist, previously synchronized with mOcean, and re-sync it, complete playlist songs from SD card, will be removed. In order to delete playlists please follow the procedure: music>playlists> tap the playlist that you want to delete>delete playlist>(confirm)delete playlist. The playlist is deleted.

Note that when you sync iTunes with mOcean, only selected lists will be stored on your device at Palm/Programs/mOcean folder.

Also note that the DRM protected files are not supported and cannot be played in mOcean.

You can try to completely remove folder /Library/Application Support/MotionApps from your Mac.

To be able to do so, you might need root privileges. You can set root privileges if you type the following terminal command:
sudo rm -R /Library/Application\ Support/MotionApps

You will be prompt to insert your Root password.

If using a version older than Mac 10.4.x you will not be able to synchronize your iTunes playlists with Treo.

However, you can connect Palm device with your Mac and press mOcean Connect as USB Drive without starting any additional application on the desktop, mOcean should behave like an SD card reader.

After few seconds, you should see a new drive letter on your desktop. It will be E:, F: or something else. That drive is actually SD card on your device.

You can copy your mp3s to the SD card and then create a playlist in mOcean by selecting desired song, artist, album or a directory on the card where your songs are stored and press the MENU key to add these songs to the On-The-Go playlist.

mOcean only supports music files in MP3 format.

Aside from a compatible Palm device, you'll need an SD or MMC mass-storage card to keep your multimedia (E.G. MP3, MPEG, .264, etc.) files on.

Please select the FIX button and you'll be asked if you would like to reboot (you can do so, however it is not necessary). Next time you boot Mac this window will not pop up.

In order for mOcean to make a proper categorization by the song name, album, artist or genre, the MP3 files must have the relevant ID3 tags filled in. You can do this in iTunes or almost any other MP3 player. Even if this information is missing, mOcean will still list your song by its file name in Card: view.

mOcean is capable of playing regular MP3 files. Audio files in other formats such as .AAC and .OGG can be played only when transferred to device using the mOceanSync software, which will automatically convert them to MP3 format. Note: DRM protected files are in a proprietary format and cannot be played.

mOcean supports only MP3 Shoutcast servers; you can click in your Treo browser on the .PLS or the .M3U file and the file will automatically start mOcean's radio feature.

Direct URL (to the server/playlist) which you can enter in the mOcean's Internet Radio option you cannot find if using Blazer browser on your Treo. You can find appropriate direct URL only if you are browsing from your PC.

Also, you can visit http://shoutcast.com and click Listen button on any MP3 server (note that aac and other servers are not supported) in order to listen to the internet radio.

mOcean does not have integrated bluetooth support; however, you can check whether Softick Audio Gateway (or some similar applications) will work with your Bluetooth headsets.
Note that this is a third-party application and MotionApps can not provide guarantee or support for it.

The upgrade to the mOcean v3 from previous version is free of charge.

In order to register mOcean v3.x you can use your v2.x mOcean registration code.

Before installing the latest mOcean v3.x, please remove any previous iTunes synchronization conduit from your desktop; to do so, it should be enough to go to "Add/Remove Programs" in the Control Panel and delete "mOcean Conduit and/or mOcean Sync". Also, please remove previous mOcean from your device by selecting "Delete" from the main menu in your file launcher, and then find and delete mOcean in the listing of applications.

Installing v3 on Windows PC
Download the ZIP file and save it on your desktop. Extract the archive to a folder on your desktop using WinZip or other unpacking software. Double-click the mOceanSync_Setup.exe program file. This starts the mOceanSync Installer Wizard, which will ask you to choose on what drive it is to install mOceanSync. Select the hard disk of your choice (usually C:\) and begin the installation. When you are done, use the Hotsync manager to transfer the file mOcean_Installer.prc to your Palm device. Installation of mOcean will commence immediately following the Hotsync operation.

Installing v3 on Mac
Download mOcean.zip, unpack it and install mOceanPalm-Installer.prc on Palm device, using HotSync or by sending it to Palm device over Bluetooth or IR connection. Double click the mOceanSync.mpkg.zip file to unpack it, and then double click on unpacked mOceanSync.mpkg and an installer will guide you through the easy installation process. After the installation process has been completed you can find mOceanSync in Applications directory. Note that you may need Administrator privileges to install new programs.

Please make sure that you are using the latest mOcean version. You can determine if you are using the latest version by selecting Check for Update option (My mOcean > Check for Update).

mOcean will sort songs by original track order only if that information exists in the song's ID3 tag.

mOcean plays music in MP3 format and other multimedia files on Palm Treo 650, 680, 700p, 755p and Centro devices.
